The duo exhibition by Léa Mayer and Ludovic Mennesson was born from a shared desire to explore a common source of inspiration: their children. Through this approach, the two artists intimately question the conditions of production and recognition of artworks. The arrival of a child profoundly disrupts artistic life—temporally, materially, and logistically—as well as in the judgments cast upon the perceived radical nature of such a career choice. Yet parenthood also opens up new possibilities through the shifts it imposes: an elastic work rhythm, research beyond the studio, production within temporal interstices, a compelled invitation to let go, and an intense confrontation with life and with the human condition.
