Why do we keep letters? This is the question from which the exhibition Letters / Letters emerged. At a certain point, the letter stops communicating. It is no longer truly addressed to someone; it becomes a silent object charged with memories. Hidden away in a box, an envelope, or a drawer, it is rarely reread. Positioned somewhere between mental and physical space, the letter gradually turns into an affective object, located between the relic and the fetish—intimate and often illegible to others. What matters is not the object itself, but the gaze and emotional investment that legitimize it.
