L’exposition en duo de Léa Mayer et Ludovic Mennesson est née d'une envie d'aborder une source d’inspiration commune : leurs enfants. A travers cette approche, les deux artistes interrogent intimement les conditions de production et de reconnaissance des œuvres d’art. L'arrivée d'un enfant bouleverse la vie artistique sur les plans temporels, matériels, logistiques mais également dans les jugements portés sur la radicalité d'un choix de carrière. Pourtant la mpaternité ouvre de nouveaux possibles dans les décloisonnements qu'elle impose : un rythme de travail élastique, une recherche hors-atelier, une production dans les interstices temporels, une invitation forcée au lâcher-prise et une confrontation intense à la vie, à l'humain.
Les gestes des enfants, leurs logiques propres, leurs rapports au monde en construction deviennent alors terrain réflexif pour les artistes. Les productions enfantines, néophytes, fragiles et sincères, ébranlent profondément les notions de création, de transmission et d'héritage.
Dans cette exposition, l’enfance est envisagée comme un prisme : un regard premier, libre et expérimental qui bouscule les hiérarchies traditionnelles entre art, jeu et pédagogie.
Les pièces témoignent du regard de l'artiste-parent qui fait œuvre de ces questionnements. Elles explorent notamment la valeur accordée aux images et aux objets, la maîtrise technique et la question du regard qui valide l'œuvre.
Dessins, gestes, fierté de créer, plaisir de montrer, envie d'offrir, essais-erreurs, accidents et maladresses deviennent autant de points d’appui pour repenser les notions d’originalité, de valeur et d’autorité artistique.

The duo exhibition by Léa Mayer and Ludovic Mennesson was born from a shared desire to explore a common source of inspiration: their children. Through this approach, the two artists intimately question the conditions of production and recognition of artworks. The arrival of a child profoundly disrupts artistic life—temporally, materially, and logistically—as well as in the judgments cast upon the perceived radical nature of such a career choice. Yet parenthood also opens up new possibilities through the shifts it imposes: an elastic work rhythm, research beyond the studio, production within temporal interstices, a compelled invitation to let go, and an intense confrontation with life and with the human condition.
Children’s gestures, their own internal logics, and their evolving relationship to the world thus become a field of reflection for the artists. Childlike productions—novice, fragile, and sincere—deeply unsettle established notions of creation, transmission, and legacy.
In this exhibition, childhood is considered as a prism: a primary, free, and experimental gaze that disrupts traditional hierarchies between art, play, and pedagogy.
The works bear witness to the perspective of the artist-parent, who makes these questions the very substance of their practice. They explore, in particular, the value attributed to images and objects, technical mastery, and the question of the gaze that validates the work.
Drawings, gestures, the pride of creating, the pleasure of showing, the desire to offer, trial and error, accidents and awkwardness all become points of departure for rethinking notions of originality, value, and artistic authority.

De duo-tentoonstelling van Léa Mayer en Ludovic Mennesson is ontstaan vanuit de wens om een gedeelde inspiratiebron te benaderen: hun kinderen. Via deze invalshoek bevragen beide kunstenaars op intieme wijze de voorwaarden voor productie en erkenning van kunstwerken. De komst van een kind zet het artistieke leven op zijn kop, zowel op temporeel, materieel en logistiek vlak als in de oordelen die worden geveld over de radicaliteit van een dergelijke carrièrekeuze. Toch opent het ouderschap nieuwe mogelijkheden binnen de verschuivingen die het met zich meebrengt: een elastisch werkritme, onderzoek buiten het atelier, productie in de tussentijd, een gedwongen uitnodiging tot loslaten en een intense confrontatie met het leven en met de mens.
De gebaren van kinderen, hun eigen logica en hun zich ontwikkelende verhouding tot de wereld worden zo een reflectieterrein voor de kunstenaars. Kinderlijke creaties — onbevangen, kwetsbaar en oprecht — doen de noties van creatie, overdracht en nalatenschap diepgaand wankelen.
In deze tentoonstelling wordt de kindertijd benaderd als een prisma: een eerste, vrije en experimentele blik die de traditionele hiërarchieën tussen kunst, spel en pedagogie door elkaar schudt.
De werken getuigen van de blik van de kunstenaar-ouder, die van deze vragen zijn werk maakt. Ze onderzoeken onder meer de waarde die aan beelden en objecten wordt toegekend, de technische beheersing en de kwestie van de blik die het werk valideert.
Tekeningen, gebaren, trots om te creëren, het plezier om te tonen, de wens om te schenken, pogingen en mislukkingen, toevalligheden en onhandigheden worden zo evenzovele aanknopingspunten om de noties van originaliteit, waarde en artistieke autoriteit te herdenken.
